Service description
2-hour workshop on the topic of Intellectual Property for startups and its role in attracting capital: Types of IP assets; Use of IP as a means to attract funding; Overall comparison of European IP to other jurisdictions; IP impact on investment negotiations; IP impact on valuations; Case studies; Q&A. EIC beneficiaries are deep-tech companies that must not only use IP assets to protect their innovations but that also can smartly leverage these assets when attracting capital both public and private. IP assets have a direct impact on the negotiating power of startups with investors and can also facilitate public funding. However, protecting IP adequately requires resources and capital that need to be efficiently used by small companies. While many IP workshops and specialists are mostly used to working with big corporates and Universities, this workshop is specially focused on the needs and realities of small and medium-sized deep-tech startups. Attendants will get a better knowledge - from a strategic point of view- on how to use IP when attracting capital in an efficient way. The workshop is not focused on the legalities or procedural details which usually are dealt by lawyers and patent agents but on entrepreneurial strategies, and practical use cases focused on maximising value efficiently.
