Service description
This legal advisory service assists EIC beneficiaries in need of IP law counsel. Counsel is provided through individual consultations via videoconference, telephone or email exchange. A.P.I. Conseil's legal expertise encompasses all facets of intellectual property law. This includes drafting non-disclosure agreements, licensing contracts, R&D partnerships, technology transfers, due diligence reviews for acquisitions, and consortium pacts. The service implementation can be online, offline or a hybrid approach, depending on client needs. The duration of legal counsel depends on the complexity of the matter at hand. Minor consultations on basic agreements require approximately 8-20 hours. More complex matters like licensing deals, due diligence reviews, and conflict resolution can extend over several weeks or months. At the close of the engagement, A.P.I. Conseil provides clients with a comprehensive digital report summarizing key findings and recommendations.

The service provider’s approval of EIC beneficiaries as clients is predicated on satisfactory due diligence of creditworthiness. The service provider’s risk assessment team will conduct necessary financial evaluations to ascertain the beneficiary’s ability to fulfill its payment obligations under the service contract. Beneficiaries who successfully demonstrate creditworthiness shall be required to pay an upfront fee, consisting of 60% of the professional fees and 100% of the official taxes and charges, before the commencement of services. This upfront fee payment serves as a provision to initiate work on the file. Once the upfront fee has been settled, beneficiaries shall be onboarded as clients and services will commence accordingly.
