The HealthTech Investor Summit (HIS) is a yearly event where the organisers (Biovia) gather European Healthtech Innovators with Healthtech investors from Europe, Asia and North America. The goal of HIS is to connect innovators and investors, to educate, to innovate and to grow European companies into global success stories. Activities include:
1) Pitches: The summit welcomes pre-seed, Start-up and scale-up companies from different Healthtech disciplines - Diagnostics, Medtech, Digital health and therapeutics, Imaging, and investors specialised in these fields. It is to the knowledge of Biovia, the first pan-european multi-disciplinary but Healthtech focused conference of its kind. For HIS25, Biovia is accommodating 90 pitching companies (25 pre-seeds, 35 startups and 30 scale-ups). In the HIS24 edition, Biovia has welcomed 460 delegates from 27 countries, 97 pitching companies from 17 countries and 75 investors from 10 countries. The delegates of HIS are executive level people of the Healthtech Innovation companies, Competence providers and Investors. We have clear indications that since HIS24 several fundraisings have been concluded (partly) as a result of HIS24. Pitching companies are selected and judged during the HIS conference by multidisciplinary juries (investors and experts in Healthtech in e.g., IP, clinical strategy, Go to market, Legal etc.). For HIS25 we organised ‘national selections in 10 countries engaging 50+ jury members in the selection process (originating from these 10 countries). We have now selected 55 companies to pitch at HIS25 from 10 different European countries. During September and October we are complementing this selection with a pan European effort engaging another 50+ jury members. By the end of October 2025, we plan to select another 35 pitching companies. We are engaging closely with the EIC accelerator teams to bring EIC grantees and/or alumni active in Healthtech to HIS25 to pitch. Plenary keynotes, panels and focused educational sessions: HIS25 will also again gather Key Opinion Leaders from across Europe in plenary keynotes, panels and in focused educational sessions. These experts in their field are hired from outside Biovia.
2) Partnering: During the HIS conference we also accommodate for a one-to-one partnering system allowing maximum interactions between Healthtech innovators and investors from across Europe.
3) Knowledge Partners: We are promoting HIS25 through ‘knowledge partners’ from across Europe. In 2024 we had 57 knowledge partners from 27 countries; in 2025 we expect again to grow this number. This pan European promotion explains the pan European origin of the pitching companies, investors and delegates. All the output of HIS24 and the current state of play of HIS25 can be followed on www.healthtechinvestorsummit.com . The efforts to prepare HIS25 started in Januari 2025 and takes a significant effort from the Biovia team and a group of subcontractors for specific technical services.
The proposal is that EIC finances 50% of the pitching fee after selection rebates and cluster rebates of EIC beneficiaries. We assume that the primary target companies will be EIC Accelerator beneficiaries (and so scale ups). Scale ups pay a €2999 pitching fee but do receive and average rebate of 25% and so pay €2250. If we assume that 5 EIC Accelerator beneficiaries will be selected then the service fee would be €5623. The proposal is that EIC beneficiaries can claim their 50% pitch fee ‘reimbursement’ by EIC by sending the pitching contract signed by the beneficiary and Biovia to a designed administrator of EIC. Biovia will inform EIC beneficiaries of this arrangement.
