Hydrogen and battery technologies: development, testing and validation
CERIC - Central European Research Infrastructure Consortium
Service ID:
EP114S2CERIC provides holistic support for the development of innovative solutions for hydrogen and battery technologies, from e.g., characterisation of interfaces to product validation and testing, through a multi-technique approach. A full range of advanced analytical techniques is available for a wide range of characterisation experiments (ex-situ, in-situ, operando experiments) for the development of materials and systems applied to fuel cells, water electrolysers, and batteries, based on techniques such as electron microscopy, solid-state and in situ/operando NMR, ion beam, neutron, and photon-based techniques. In addition, CERIC offers fuel cell, water electrolysers, and battery testing and validation to EIC beneficiaries. The complementary knowledge and instrumentation of these facilities allow for the testing and validation of different advanced fuel cells, electrolysers, batteries, and related systems under operando conditions, providing the possibility to verify the functioning of pilot products. Moreover, CERIC supports the development of regulations, codes, and standards by validating test procedures and measurement methods for the performance assessment of fuel cells using the European Commission’s JRC facilities. The whole service includes the design of the experiments, testing and knowledge required, data collection, data analysis, and a report. More information about the service: https://www.ceric-eric.eu/industry/services-for-eic-beneficiaries/.
The cost of the services is a full payment, calculated according to the type of instrument and the full cost of the support requested: €500-5.200 daily (8 hours). The range depends on the instrument used.To determine the exact cost of the service according to the Beneficiary's needs, please contact: ilo@ceric-eric.eu . Open access for non-proprietary research is free of charge, provided the results are made publicly available after an established embargo period.
EIC beneficiaries can enroll on a rolling basis, but the facilities will close for routine maintenance breaks according to operational schedules. Services are provided via remote access (mail-in of samples), other modes are also available, depending on the EIC beneficiary’s wishes.
