Service description

CREO Innovate is an eight-week, cohort-based venture growth programme for advanced EIC-funded innovators in health, life sciences, biotechnology and MedTech. It is designed for EIC Transition awardees at TRL 4-6, EIC Accelerator and Seal of Excellence companies at TRL 6-8, and eligible STEP Scale-Up companies within the Biotechnologies strategic pillar.

Participants should already have a funded innovation programme, a core team and an active commercialisation pathway. The programme complements EIC Business Acceleration Services by providing specialist, sector-deep capacity building in areas not typically covered through generic entrepreneurship support. Four two-week thematic blocks address clinical and regulatory translation; biomanufacturing and CMC at scale; market access and commercialisation; and building and leading larger teams. Each block combines a specialist masterclass, a CEO-led case clinic and a facilitated peer-learning session. Delivery is online through weekly live sessions supported by asynchronous materials.

The cohort will include 15-20 companies, with one or two participants per company. Participants will develop clearer regulatory and clinical pathways, stronger scale-up and market-access strategies, and greater leadership and organisational readiness for commercial growth. Delivery will be led by Dr Martine Abboud and CREO facilitators, drawing on practising biotech CEOs, sector specialists and pharmaceutical partners.

• EIC ACCESS+ co-funding is not automatic and must be applied for and approved under the applicable ACCESS+ rules.
• CREO may adapt the timetable, delivery format, curriculum emphasis and expert line-up in response to cohort needs and expert availability.
