This 6-12 week engagement supports high‑tech start‑ups in concept design and rapid prototyping for their idea, be it a mechanism, electronics solution or integrated system, including system engineering, implementation trade-offs, design-for-manufacturing, performance validation and complementary IP support. The process begins with a structured requirements discovery phase, where functional, performance, and regulatory needs are identified. This is followed by conceptual design work using CAD tools, rapid prototyping for key subsystems (breadboarding, 3D-printing, wooden mock-ups, 5-axis metal machining), to validate critical functionalities and design options Parallel to the design process, test plans and quality system frameworks are defined to ensure compliance with industry standards. A comprehensive patent support component is optional, starting with a Freedom-to-Operate (FTO) exploration and a patent scan to assess the intellectual property landscape. Patent application drafting may be carried out by our experienced patent lawyer, ensuring robust IP protection. The service is delivered through regular progress meetings, iterative design review, and complete documentation.
The activity typically takes place over 6-12 weeks, covering system engineering, mechanical and electrical design. The activity will be scoped with the customer to fit within a 60k € pricing. We deliver this service at a prefixed project price based on 100 €/h.
