Service description

A 3-6 month Venture Building programme directed to EIC Pathfinder and EIC Transition innovators that aims to accelerate their development and guide, support, and challenge founders with the digital health start-up creation process. A venture architect will guide start-ps during the programme with a tailor-made approach. Under this programme E-Health Venture (EHV) offers full-time access to its co-working facilities in Brussels; an online communication channel for raising needs-questions-issues; templates for structuring and operations; access to potential customers, coaches, healthcare, and IT professionals (in-house or outsourced experts). First, EHV assesses if the Beneficiary matches the requirements to participate in the programme in a free 2-hour session. beneficiaries will have the opportunity to pitch their project/idea to EHV team. Solutions that show a good level of maturity and attractiveness will be approved for the subsequent phases of the programme. The venture-building phases are as follows: Customer discovery, during which beneficiaries receive up to 5.000€ in cash, and support to identify and prove market interest in the concept/solution; Prototyping, under which “Proven” projects receive up to 5.000€ in cash to support and develop a prototype and test it with potential users; Building Team and Regulatory Roadmap, in which “Prototyped” projects receive support on management, recruitment and on GDPR and Medical Device Regulation (MDR) roadmaps. Each phase duration is limited to 2 months and EHV consultants support innovators for a maximum of 20h/month. Hybrid implementation (max 50% online); Offline activities will take place in EHV facilities in Brussels, Belgium.

Disclaimer related to service

Travel-hotel-transportation expenses (PER DIEM) are not covered. Participants must be able to speak and write in English, French or Dutch. The companies should be based in Europe, have a Problem-Solution idea in healthcare that involves software and have a willing and able team dedicating most of their time to the startup.

Financial requirements

If selected and admitted to the program, beneficiaries grant EHV an equity stake in the company.
