ELIXIR provides secure, scalable computing and storage services designed for Life Science research, supporting both sensitive and non-sensitive data analysis. Our infrastructure enables researchers, clinicians and industry partners to run computationally intensive workflows for genomics, proteomics, imaging and clinical data at scale, with full GDPR-compliant environments. 
These services naturally support a wide range of AI and machine-learning applications already used across the ELIXIR community. Beneficiaries can deploy ML and data-analysis workflows on virtual machines preconfigured with Galaxy, which hosts numerous tools for statistical modelling, feature extraction, deep-learning-based image analysis and omics data processing. Customisable VM environments provide high-performance computing, large memory and fast storage to support demanding AI workloads such as model training, cross-validation, data integration and large-scale inference. Using platforms such as SimpleVM, OpenStack and Rahti, beneficiaries can run containerised machine-learning pipelines, web-based AI tools, interactive notebooks and scalable scientific software stacks. These cloud-native environments allow teams to automate workflow execution, orchestrate parallel computations and deploy reproducible ML pipelines across diverse datasets. For sensitive data analysis, ELIXIR offers secure environments (including cPouta) where machine-learning workflows can be executed under strict data-protection constraints. 
By providing a flexible computing ecosystem that can host AI-enabled image analysis, omics modelling, predictive analytics and workflow automation, ELIXIR ensures that EIC beneficiaries can efficiently develop, evaluate and scale their machine-learning applications using trusted infrastructure that grows with their scientific needs.
