Service description

An ongoing consultation service targeting all EIC beneficiaries. The European Synchrotron Radiation Facility’s (ESRF) Advanced Characterisation Consulting Service aims to help end-users respond to their industrial R&D needs/questions by using cutting-edge X-ray characterisation techniques. The service is provided through remote one-on-one or group meetings via video conference and is free of charge. The target audiences for the service include those working in R&D, materials development, materials characterisation, device characterisation, new product/process development, production problems, product concept, and others who could benefit from advanced characterisation techniques. During the consulting sessions, experts will help end-users identify specific synchrotron X-ray characterisation technique(s) that can respond to their R&D needs. The service includes proposing rapid access to routine or custom-made services making use of advanced characterisation and analytical technologies. The service also connects end-users to complementary facilities and service providers if necessary, including potential use of European Commission subsidised access for SMEs. The ultimate goal of the one-on-one sessions is to provide the best possible insights and support to a particular industrial R&D problem based on expert knowledge and expertise. The service will help end-users improve their R&D performance, enhance their competitiveness in the market and have a better understanding of how to exploit advanced characterisation techniques to tackle their particular industrial R&D problems. The service will remain open for EIC beneficiaries throughout the year and can be conducted in English, French, Italian and Greek. The service targets technologies from all sectors and the duration of the service is normally 1-2 hours.
