Investment Readiness and Matchmaking Access to finance is a key aspect of both new ventures and experienced SMEs. The overall goal of these sessions is to provide insights and hands-on support about how to improve investment readiness, develop a fundraising strategy, and how to access to private equity/venture funds. The starting point is the evaluation of the Investment Readiness Level, which is a crucial aspect to understand the investment potential of a startup and identify areas for improvement. The methodology is based on an evaluation model for the Investment Readiness Level of startups, which includes an evaluation questionnaire composed of various questions and a scoring system to evaluate the responses. Our tailored programme follows four main phases:
1) Investment Readiness Assessment
2) Investor matchmaking
3) Investor contacts & connections
4) Follow-up and assistance
Following the initial assessment, areas for improvement will be identified and discussed with the startup. Based on this assessment a tailored investment readiness programme will be defined in the form of dedicated mentoring sessions on identified improvement areas, to be planned in coordination with the startup. KPIs will be set and shared with the startup to ensure guidance during the program. In parallel with the investment readiness program, a tailored fundraising strategy will be defined, and a thorough analysis will be implemented to identify the best potential investment opportunities. Prior to the first investor contact, it is important to develop a proper teaser to stimulate their interest and encourage them to learn more about your startup. The right teaser allows a better match with our network and planning of meetings with interested investors. The process doesn’t end by meeting investors and other activities can be required to put the decision to invest on the ground. Besides the investor matchmaking and the tailor-made connections with investors, is important to be ready and effective in preparing and providing any required documentation for the pitching meetings/presentations (type of deck, information required, additional supporting material, etc.).
The proposed remuneration scheme is mixed (fixed fee + success fee). According to the required effort, the fixed fee is €5000, and the success fee is 6%, but it can be adapted to specific needs following our tailored approach.
Receive up to €60,000 in grants, covering up to 50% of the costs, to access specialised services from the EIC Service Catalogue. Learn more on the EIC ACCESS+ website.
