TerraXcube is Eurac Research’s extreme climate simulation centre located at NOI Techpark. It offers EIC beneficiaries access to advanced climate chambers capable of replicating a wide range of environmental conditions, including extreme temperatures, altitude, wind, rain, and solar radiation. The combination of hypobaric and altitude technology with state-of-the-art environmental simulation aims to investigate the effects of extreme climate conditions on humans, ecological processes and industrial products. The infrastructure includes three chambers — Large Cube, Small Cube, and Mini Cube — designed to accommodate people, plants, and large-scale machinery for both short- and long-term experiments. TerraXcube allows for the testing of machines and aggregates with large dimension, products testing before certification processes and the collection of high quality data during the development of a product under realistic and repeatable environmental stressors. The service targets companies and research institutions in sectors such as environmental technologies, energy, biotechnology, space and defence technologies, health and medical care. Upon request, provides expert technical support throughout all phases of research and development. Each test is custom-designed to meet the specific needs of the client, ensuring an efficient and tailored service.
