Service description

1-3-month support service directed to EIC Transition and EIC Accelerator beneficiaries that can cover the following tasks:

1) Product/process life-cycle assessment and cost (LCA/LCC), and diagnosis of aggregated resource efficiency; diagnosis of the potential for energy and materials recovery from waste, as well as for circularity and industrial symbiosis (benchmarking the targeted innovation against reference conditions). Includes mapping of all energy and materials streams, and the identification of operational and technological improvements in plant equipment regarding savings in the consumption of all types of resources, equivalent CO2 reduction, and payback period;

2) Circular product design (Design-for-sustainability, Design-for-recyclability, Design-for modularity rules) and sustainable material design (safe-by-design), applying and providing evidence-based sustainability information about the innovations in view (informed design decisions). The results are mainly provided in the form of explainable reports. Energy monitoring and management tools can be either installed at the EIC beneficiaries’ facilities or demonstrated/simulated in-house at INEGI.
