Specialised Testing services – Tribological Efficiency and Reliability
INEGI
Service ID:
EP42S3Highly differentiated and reference testing activities in the Tribology R&I area. In the area of Tribology of Machine Elements, the following tests are available:
a) Rolling bearings/lubricant tests for friction torque and reliability assessment. Test conditions: up to 7 kN axial load, 100-7000 rpm, 0-100 ºC. Rolling bearing types: Thrust ball/roller bearings, Angular contact ball bearings; Tapered roller bearings;
b) High-speed tandem rolling bearings/lubricant test. Test conditions: load imposed by axial load/starting torque, up to 24000 rpm, 50-100 ºC; control over oil sump temperature and/or injection, as well as grease lubrication, are possible. Rolling bearing types: Angular contact ball bearings and tapered roller bearings;
c) Lubricant (oil or grease) and gear performance testing in FZG gear test rig (friction torque, scuffing and micro-pitting); Gear geometry: Standard FZG, Custom spur/helical gears; and
d) Gearbox testing for reliability and efficiency (mechanical closed loop, up to 4000 rpm or 1300 Nm at the input). Cylindrical gear parallel axis and planetary gearbox are available. Experimental measurement of the no-load torque loss up to higher speeds available. Lubricant characterization tests include: Film thickness, traction coefficient and Stribeck curves of oils and greases (including base-oil and bleed-oil). Test conditions: up to 50 N, 0.001-4 m/s, 25-150 ºC, up to 100% slide-to-roll ratio).
Custom testing is also available. The full set of experimental tests and the eventual complementary modelling analysis or design tasks run offline. Typical service duration is in the range of 1 week to 2 months, mostly depending on the number of conditions to be tested.
An average daily rate in the range of €150-350, depending on the type of test equipment, and an average hourly rate of €100 for complementary modelling and design services, applies. Service will be charged as full payment.
