Technology-driven Market Analysis and Go-to-Market Strategy
Italbiotec srl Società Benefit
Service ID:
EP880S3This individualised service supports EIC beneficiaries working on biotechnology, bio-based products and processes, bio-based ingredients and green chemistry in assessing the commercial potential of their innovations. Our approach follows a technology-driven methodology structured in three main steps: technology assessment, value chain system analysis, and market derivation. Rather than starting from generic market statistics, the analysis begins with a structured evaluation of the technology itself and the industrial context in which it could be applied. First, we perform technology scouting and technology assessment. This includes analysing the state of the art, competing technological solutions, alternative production routes, and the maturity and differentiation of the innovation to understand its potential advantages compared with existing solutions. Second, we conduct a system analysis of the relevant value chain, mapping upstream inputs, downstream applications and key stakeholders such as suppliers, industrial users and intermediaries. This step helps identify where value is created in the system and which actors would need to adopt or enable the technology. Finally, we derive market insights and quantitative estimates, identifying relevant market segments, potential demand and application niches grounded in the specific value chain positions identified in the previous steps. The results are translated into strategic recommendations and a tailored go-to-market roadmap outlining priority stakeholders, validation steps and realistic pathways toward first commercial applications.
The service is offered on a fee-for-service basis. The requested fee ranges from €15,000 to €20,000, depending on scope and validation depth. The standard professional rate is €150 per hour. The final budget is agreed after initial alignment and may be structured into sequential Work Packages.
The service is offered on a rolling basis and is continuously available to EIC beneficiaries. There are no fixed application deadlines. The typical duration of the activity is approximately 3-4 months, depending on scope, data availability and alignment requirements. A detailed timeline and implementation schedule are defined jointly with the beneficiary at the start of the engagement.
