Service description

This individualised service supports EIC beneficiaries and Seal of Excellence holders in preparing for private finance, investor engagement and scale-up financing. It is designed for deep-tech start-ups, SMEs, spin-offs and mature innovation projects preparing a fundraising round or seeking private co-investment after public funding or quality validation. It is particularly relevant for EIC Accelerator beneficiaries and EIC Transition projects preparing for venture creation, commercial deployment or industrial scale-up. The service is delivered over 4 to 8 weeks by LGI’s in-house experts in innovation financing, business modelling, impact strategy, market positioning, IP strategy and investor readiness. External legal, financial, or sector experts may be involved where formal validation is required. LGI challenges the beneficiary’s business case from an investor perspective, including strategy, market opportunity, competitive positioning, sustainability and impact, value drivers, IP and Freedom-to-Operate considerations, financial assumptions and investment structure. Activities include review of strategic and financial documentation, preparation or improvement of investor-facing materials such as teaser documents, investment memoranda, pitch decks and data room structure, investor targeting, due diligence preparation and support in approaching relevant investors and financing programmes. Expected outcomes include an investor-readiness assessment, strengthened investment case, improved fundraising materials, target investor mapping, data room preparation and practical recommendations for investor engagement and financing strategy. The service supports beneficiaries up to investor discussions and investment process preparation.
