Patent & Trademark Applications is an individualised intellectual property service supporting EIC beneficiaries in protecting their innovations, products, brands and other commercially relevant intellectual property.

For patent applications, patent experts work with the beneficiary to understand the invention, its technical features and intended scope of protection. The service can include assessment of the invention and available background information, preparation of the patent application, drafting of claims and supporting documentation, and filing with the relevant patent office. Following filing, the service can also cover prosecution of the application, including analysis and preparation of responses to communications and office actions issued by patent authorities.

For trademark applications, the service can include assessment of the intended mark, definition of the relevant goods and services, preparation and filing of the application, and support during examination and registration proceedings.

The scope, geographical coverage and duration of each assignment are agreed individually based on the beneficiary’s needs, the intellectual property concerned and the relevant jurisdictions. Where protection is sought internationally, the service can include coordination of applications and prosecution across selected jurisdictions through a network of local patent and trademark professionals.

The beneficiary receives tailored support throughout the agreed application process, with the goal of establishing appropriate intellectual property protection that supports the beneficiary’s technology development and commercial activities.
