Conducting technical tests and analyses

IPPLM - Sylwester Kaliski Institute of Plasma Physics and Laser Microfusion

Poland

Service ID:

EP86S1
Service description

The service offered is the development of diagnostics and material tests for infrastructural devices, mostly stellarators and accelerators, as well as studies of plasma behaviour and modelling. The scope of service covers: a) design and development of plasma diagnostics installation and laser system alignment; synchronisation, calibration, operation, estimation of material qualifications and interpretation of the results; b) laser spectroscopy (LIBS) and diagnostics; c) operation and data analysis, namely, classification of any materials based on the original samples provided, detection of material forgeries and impurity detection, and quantitative analysis based on calibration samples provided; d) computer simulations; e) verification of experimental results; f) laser interferometry, shadowgraphy, schlierenography;  g) neutron and gamma radiation diagnostics; h) X-ray diagnostics; i) resistance testing against thunder strikes of flying objects, elements of avionics, any elements exposed to atmospheric hazards; j) experimental data collection, processing, modelling, analysis, interpretation and preparation of manuscripts for publication. Our institute is used to work on the project-based organisations of the delivery of Work Packages/Deliverables within the duration of the agreed project plan, budget and required type of services. The institute provides diagnostics in the form of engineering measurement systems. Targets are private and public product and service providers, technology developers and end-users including manufacturers, academia and research, army and hospitals positioning themselves in technology development, manufacturing, material engineering and processing in space, aviation, transport, energy, safety&security, defence and healthcare. Time of service delivery is subject to agreement.

Financial requirements

Laser spectroscopy is €200 for first 10 samples, and €50 each additional 10 samples.

The cost of other services is subject to terms of payment, set up in an agreement, based on: the project plan, the type, scope, and number of Deliverables (diagnostics, simulations, experiments, testing, data processing, modelling, analysis, interpretation, reporting, etc.); the costs of staff required (qualifications and number of PM, PPY value for IPPLM, as approved by the EUROfusion). Payment model is negotiable, set up in an agreement, on the basis of the terms of service and terms of payment.

Disclaimer related to service

Service is upon demand and open on a continuous basis. Should the service require travel and/or include costs related to performance in an off-site venue setting, these will be factored as well (based on the Ordinance of 29.01.2013 on the receivables to which an employee working in a state or local government unit of the budgetary sphere is entitled on account of business travel [Journal of Laws of 2023, item 2190].
