The Zinc Innovation fellowship programme is a programme that connects reserachers and clinicians in high-growth startups for 6-12 months of project-based work experience. Fellows apply their expertise in real-world settings, gain innovation skills, and accelerate R&D on the UK’s most urgent health and environmental challenges. Zinc serves as the bridge, supporting funders to: Channel research talent into high-impact ventures Build capability for innovation across academia, healthcare, and industry Accelerate progress in priority health missions

Financial requirements

The programme is funded by innovation funders, and is free to the seconded fellows and the hosting startups. For innovation funders the costs are composed of the programmatic support, a development budget for fellows and a pro-rata salary support for the fellows. These costs total €21,000 euros per fellow, plus the cost of their salary at their host organisation.
