When a technical solution with potential for protection has been developed, a patent can serve as a powerful tool to safeguard the invention. A granted patent provides the holder with exclusive rights, allowing them to prevent others from producing, offering, selling, using, or importing the invention without authorization. The patent application process begins with meeting the inventors to capture the technical essence of the invention and understand its unique aspects. Following this, a preliminary prior art search may be conducted to identify existing patents and publications that could influence the scope of protection. Based on this analysis, a patent attorney prepares the application draft, defining the scope of protection through a set of claims that reflect the core concepts of the invention. The draft is then reviewed in collaboration with the inventors before being filed with the relevant Patent Office.
