The EIC ScaleUp phase Access & Market Scale-Up Readiness Programme is designed to address the most persistent and structural challenges faced by European scale-ups as they transition from technological validation to sustainable international growth. While many scale-ups demonstrate strong and differentiated technologies, they often remain insufficiently prepared for large investment rounds, struggle to access Customer Zero or proof-of-concept, pilot, or clinical trial opportunities with corporates and public or private buyers, lack clarity on product–market fit beyond pilots, and face fragmented access to international markets and global investors. These challenges are particularly acute for companies from widening countries and for diverse founding teams, which remain underrepresented in later-stage scaling and funding pathways. 

Delivered over several weeks or months, the programme combines cohort-based learning with tailored, on-demand expert support and direct market access. It begins with a structured identification and diagnostic phase, using an open call complemented by data-driven scouting to identify high-potential scale-ups in strategic technologies for Europe. Each selected company receives a comprehensive assessment of investment readiness, market maturity, and scaling gaps, forming the basis for a customised growth roadmap, hands-on introductions, and access to WLOUNGE’s corporate and investor network. 

The programme shifts the focus from financing mechanics to revenue traction, customer validation, and scalable market execution, while remaining fully aligned with EIC objectives. Scale-ups receive one-to-one coaching, pitch calibration centred on commercial milestones, guidance on compliant use of consultants, and curated access to European and international customers and investors. Activities are aligned with the EIC Fund and STEP Scale-Up scheme, supporting a seamless transition from market entry to growth financing. A dedicated widening and diversity track runs across all phases, ensuring inclusive participation and measurable impact. The service is delivered online, depending on agreement and request.
