IoT and Dataspaces Validation and Pilot Planning
Teaching Factory Competence Center
Service ID:
854S3TF-CC provides a structured service for assessing, testing, and preparing the deployment of IoT-enabled and dataspace-based solutions in realistic industrial environments. The service typically lasts 4-8 weeks, depending on the maturity of the solution, the availability of technical information, and the level of pilot preparation required. The service targets technology providers, start-ups, SMEs, research teams, and industrial end-users developing or adopting IoT platforms, industrial data services and secure data-sharing/data space applications. The goal is to help participants validate the technical and business relevance of their solution, identify integration requirements, and prepare a practical roadmap for pilot deployment or market uptake. TF-CC’s available infrastructure includes several industrial IoT devices, an IoT platform, and a dataspace setup, supporting experimentation with data collection, processing, visualization and trusted data sharing. The service is delivered in four phases: 1. Initial assessment of the solution, target users, existing infrastructure, and testing needs. 2. Use-case and testing scenario definition, focusing on IoT connectivity, industrial data collection, analytics, visualization and trusted data sharing. 3. Technical validation planning, including data-flow mapping, sensor and platform requirements, APIs, data models, connectors, governance, and dataspace-readiness analysis. 4. Pilot roadmap preparation, including validation criteria, risks, required resources, implementation steps, and partner roles. Activities are delivered through expert consultation, workshops, technical review sessions, structured templates, and access to TF-CC’s industrial testbed and demonstration infrastructure. The expected outcome is a validation and implementation roadmap, including priority use cases’ definition, technical requirements, testing plan, integration challenges, risks, and recommended next steps.
The actual cost of the service will be determined after the detailed needs assessment and service scope definition. It will depend on the complexity of the project (i.e. maturity of the solution, availability of technical information, level of pilot preparation, etc.) and the required resources for its implementation.
Indicatively, the rate for the service delivery is 900 - 1,400 €/day, including the engagement of staff members (senior experts and research engineers), and the access/use of dedicated software, industrial IoT devices, IoT platform, dataspace setup, industrial testbeds and demonstration infrastructure.
The service is offered on a rolling basis. The offer is continuously open.
