This service supports R&D teams in identifying the most impactful applications for their technologies, analyzing competition, and preparing the transition from research outcomes to relevant demonstrators and future products. It is tailored to the maturity level of EIC Pathfinder beneficiaries, strongly R&D oriented and particularly relevant for photonics and quantum-based innovations.
Delivered over 3 to 5 months, the program combines market, technology, and business expertise to help research teams identify high-potential use cases, engage with relevant stakeholders and define with them relevant demonstrators based on EIC Pathfinder developments. The goal is to prioritize opportunities to focus on the most attractive Proof-of-Concept pathways, whether based on the initial Pathfinder application or on alternative applications offering stronger market traction.
The service is delivered by qualified experts with strong track record in photonics and quantum technologies backed by a network of consultants and entrepreneurs, with extensive expertise in market and scientific intelligence, Deep tech marketing and manufacturability.
Key services include:
(1) Analysis of competing technologies, products, and business trajectories,
(2) Assessment of use cases across multiple applications to define suitable demonstrators and/or minimum viable products (MVPs) aligned with needs
(3) Validation of market needs through interviews with industrial stakeholders, potential customers, integrators, and end-users along the value chain
(4) Identification of strategic partners required for demonstrator or MVP development.
Expected outcomes include a ranked portfolio of use cases, access to potential partners and beta-test customers, initial assessment of market size & dynamics and finally an increased likelihood of successful technology transfer, future EIC Transition projects, and long-term commercialization.
The fee is determined on a case-by-case basis, considering EIC minimum discount. Typical fees range between EUR 10-40k.
All sectors using optics & photonics-based devices and quantum devices.
