Service description

This individualised service supports EIC beneficiaries and Seal of Excellence holders in strengthening their financial readiness, defining a realistic capital strategy and preparing for discussions with financial stakeholders, including banks, private investors, institutional investors and strategic partners. Designed for deep-tech companies approaching scale-up, industrial deployment, market expansion or a new financing round, the service helps translate capital needs, risk profile and growth objectives into a credible and actionable funding strategy. The advisory process starts with a review of the beneficiary's financial profile, business model, funding requirements, investment assumptions and expected use of proceeds, followed by a non-binding assessment of financial maturity, bankability, business model sustainability and financing readiness.

The service may also include the identification and assessment of the most suitable capital stack, including debt, equity, quasi-equity, hybrid instruments, grants, sustainable finance solutions and other non-dilutive financing sources, taking into account the company's maturity, sector, financing objectives and growth trajectory. Where relevant, the service supports the refinement of the company's financial narrative and investor value proposition to facilitate engagement with financial and investment stakeholders. An optional IP due diligence module can complement the service by assessing the strength, scope and investment relevance of the beneficiary's intellectual property portfolio, supporting a broader evaluation of intangible assets from an investment perspective. The expected outcome is a practical funding roadmap outlining suitable financing options, capital structure considerations, priority actions and recommended next steps to strengthen investment readiness and improve access to finance.
