Life Sciences Company Valuation

Provided by Avance Life Sciences · Switzerland

Service description

This individualised valuation service supports EIC Transition and EIC Accelerator beneficiaries in the life sciences sector that require an independent, structured assessment of the value of their company, technology, asset portfolio or development programme. It is intended for biotechnology, pharmaceutical, medical technology and digital-health companies preparing for fundraising, licensing or partnering discussions, strategic planning, board discussions, or other transaction-related decisions.

The engagement typically takes four to six weeks, depending on the availability and complexity of the underlying information. Avance’s in-house valuation professionals lead the service and may involve external scientific, clinical, regulatory or market experts where specialist input is required.

The service begins with a scoping discussion to define the valuation purpose, asset scope, development stage and information requirements. Avance then reviews the beneficiary’s non-confidential and, where appropriate, confidential materials, including development plans, clinical and regulatory status, intellectual-property position, market opportunity, financial projections and comparable transactions. The analysis applies valuation methodologies appropriate to the company and asset maturity, which may include risk-adjusted net present value, discounted cash flow, comparable-company analysis and precedent-transaction analysis.

The service concludes with a valuation report and a management discussion of the principal assumptions, valuation range, value drivers, risks and potential milestones that could influence value. The expected outcome is a transparent, decision-useful valuation framework that beneficiaries can use to support investor, partner and internal strategic discussions. The service is delivered remotely, with virtual meetings and document exchange; in-person meetings may be arranged where appropriate.

The service is available to EIC beneficiaries and Seal of Excellence holders operating in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, medical technology or digital health. Avance will agree the scope, timeline, deliverables and fee with each beneficiary before the engagement begins. The service provides an independent advisory valuation and does not constitute an audit, fairness opinion, legal advice, investment recommendation or fundraising guarantee.
