An ongoing service for all EIC beneficiaries. The EMBEic service aims to support EIC beneficiaries by giving them access to Europe’s leading clinical and biomedical engineering researchers through the EAMBES Fellows Network. This network offers a range of complementary competences that can help evaluate and test beneficiaries’ product ideas. In this service EAMBES Fellows network will help EIC beneficiaries through any of three different mentorship packages:
1) Propel Monitoring: intensive guidance tailored for applicants to the EIC programmes;
2) Extended Support: extended assistance for project development;
3) Idea Accelerator Consultation: support designed for innovators and startups to rapidly assess, refine, and strategise the development of their ideas. A dedicated search engine, supported by a comprehensive database, is offered as a tool to identify key experts and opinion leaders in the network, matching their expertise and knowledge with interest in innovation projects. The service is implemented in a hybrid mode.
These packages are further explained here:
The European Alliance of Medical and Biological Engineering and Science (EAMBES) is a non-profit international organization that federates most scientific societies and academic and research institutions located in Europe and involved with Biomedical Engineering (BME), or as it is more appropriately defined Medical and Biological Engineering and Science (www.eambes.org). EAMBES boasts a Fellows network of over 100 esteemed professors and experts, each a leading professional in various BME research fields across Europe. Collectively, these Fellows bring unparalleled expertise, with over 40,000 scientific publications, more than 1 billion euros in funding, and over 100 startups founded.
The packages in the service are individually priced with the price of €3,500 for package 1) Propel Monitoring, €28,000 for package 2) Extended Support, and €2,800 for package 3) Idea Accelerator Consultation. One or more packages can be chosen. The packages can be combined as desired.
The cost may be individually set depending on the needs of the specific project. A minimum of 5 hours at a rate of €200/h per request will be charged. Applicants are encouraged to read about the different components of the service here before submitting an application.
