Service ID:

Service description
An ongoing service for access to consultancy, advisory and risk assessment targeting all EIC beneficiaries. This service aims to provide support in the application of the technology and navigating legal requirements to EIC beneficiaries specialised in the space sector. UAS Denmark Test Center holds specialised knowledge about drone regulation, risk assessments and how to best obtain needed approvals for drone operations. These concern operations conducted in the test center area which are regularly used as steppingstone for real life and/or commercial implementation. Any organisation can get access to perform UAS operations in the test center. More complex operations (EASA Specific Category) usually entail an operational authorisation from the National Aviation Authority nless the operation is covered by a Standard Scenario. UAS Denmark Test Center supports EIC beneficiaries in obtaining the necessary approval and to continuously work with industry, research, and authorities to expand what is possible. This can be done on a one-to-one basis or through R&D projects. UAS Denmark Test Center has experience with the SORA methodology (Specific Operations Risk Assessment – developed by JARUS) and will support EIC beneficiaries’ application work, such as how to best organise the development of a new platform or other technology in accordance with the legal requirements. The two key activities of this service are: A) Sparring on approvals: 1) Sparring on approvals for complex flights in or outside the UAS Denmark Test Center, including dialogue with authorities, regarding existing drone platforms/technologies; 2) Sparring on regulatory implications on technologies under development, e.g., what risk mitigating design features are recommended to consider given the current and upcoming regulation. B) Presentations: Get an executive introduction to the dos and don’ts of current and upcoming drone regulation. C) Training: Get training on the SORA methodology. The target audiences for this service also include industry and research partners.
