Design counsel

This service covers all aspects concerning designs and is aimed at all EIC beneficiaries wishing to protect a design. SIB’s design attorneys can assist clients directly for Italian designs, community designs and international designs and can assist clients concerning all other countries by collaborating with foreign associates. Services includes, i) Advice and assistance in the protection of designs. ii) Drafting and filing Italian design registration applications with the Italian Patent and Trademark Office (IPTO). iii) Drafting and filing community design applications with the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO). iv) Drafting and filing international design applications with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). v) Design prosecution: deferment of publication, actions of declaration of invalidity, appeals, paying maintenance fees, etc. vi) Drafting assignment and license agreements. vii) Recordals (assignments, licences, mergers, security rights, changes of name, changes of address, incorporations, surrenders). viii) Assistance in requesting Customs to prevent the entry into the European Union of goods infringing design rights. ix) Assistance and advice on validity and infringement problems. x) Development of a corporate design strategy. The duration varies depending on the activities required.
