Bio Base Europe Pilot Plant (BBEPP) is an independent, state-of-the-art, multi-purpose and flexible pilot facility that operates from a laboratory level to a multi-ton scale. BBEPP is a unique service provider for process development, scale-up and custom manufacturing of biobased products and processes. A wide and flexible spectrum of modular unit operations combined with the experience of highly competent engineers and technicians enables the translation of biobased lab protocols into viable industrial processes. BBEPP facilitates the conversion of renewable feedstocks into biochemicals, biomaterials, biofuels and other bioproducts by using technologies such as biomass pretreatment, biocatalysis, (gas)fermentation, green chemistry and product recovery and purification. Furthermore, BBEPP offers CMO services (up to 75 m3), R&D and engineering services, public project writing advice and assistance, ample networking opportunities (e.g., Pitch Perfect and Boost the European Bioeconomy event, Pilots4U database & Community, The ProteInn Club), has a strong link with the investors community and is involved in bioeconomy/scale-up related advocacy.
