The START six-month (or GROW three-month) acceleration programme targeting all EIC beneficiaries aims to boost innovation transfer potential of research advances with applications in oncology. The service launches an annual call and provides access to expertise, coaching/mentoring, networking, and partnership opportunities.
Main activities of the programme:
- Preselection pitch: Oral pitch of 8-10 minutes followed by a discussion of 10 minutes with the preselection jury (Biotechs, academic, and investors representatives). Written report from the jury experts summarising the project’s strengths and weaknesses. For the GROW programme, candidates are selected directly from the MATWIN Board (MIB) to join the programme at the second coaching session (see below).
- Personalised coaching/mentoring: Preselected EIC beneficiaries benefit from coaching sessions to optimise the project structuration, and its industrial orientation, and 1h mentoring session with one MIB member to prepare for the MIB interview.
- MIB interview: a 20-minute presentation of the EIC beneficiaries’ project followed by a 20-minute question period with the MIB. Written recommendations and individual feedback issued after the meeting providing guidelines for a successful development plan and arguments for early-stage investment decision-making. Project leaders gain experience with their project presentation and might initiate collaborations with some MIB members.
Selected EIC beneficiaries for the MIB interview will be offered a free access pass to the MEET2WIN Partnering Convention (Service ID: EP40S3).
This service will provide EIC beneficiaries with the following outcomes: a) improvement of value proposition and development plan, b) validation of product market positioning, c) increased knowledge of market entry strategy, and d) showcase opportunities to ease access to strategic partners and investors.
€1000 VAT excl., if selected by the preselection jury. Success fees will apply in case of positive results (e.g., partnership agreement signature, fundraising).
The programme will admit any EIC beneficiary entities working on oncology innovation whose project is selected by the MIB, with a maximum of 3 representatives per entity. There is a Programme Budget per EIC beneficiary supported by MATWIN that will need to be reimbursed in case of successful programme implementation.
