Service description

The IP and Commercialisation Strategy Review is an individualised advisory service that helps EIC beneficiaries turn their intellectual property into a coherent commercial strategy. The service runs for six to ten weeks per beneficiary. It is directed at EIC Pathfinder, EIC Transition and EIC Accelerator beneficiaries and Seal of Excellence holders — typically founders, technical leads and research teams in deep-tech sectors such as life sciences, engineering, materials, energy and digital technologies. The goal is to ensure that the beneficiary's IP portfolio, protection approach and business model reinforce one another and support licensing, partnering and investment.

The service is delivered in four phases:

  • (1) review of the existing IP portfolio and protection status;
  • (2) IP landscaping and market mapping to identify promising application areas and flag freedom-tooperate risks requiring formal legal review;
  • (3) development of a commercialisation and licensing strategy, including valuation approaches and deal structures; and
  • (4) an implementation roadmap with coaching for the team. Activities include document review, structured interviews, landscape analysis, strategy workshops and a final recommendations report.

The expected outcome is a prioritised IP and commercialisation action plan that strengthens the beneficiary's position in investor, licensing and partnership conversations.

The review is delivered remotely, with optional on-site workshops, by Oxentia's in-house consultants with technology-transfer, licensing and dealmaking backgrounds; specialist patent attorneys are engaged as outsourced experts where formal legal opinions are needed. The service provides strategic and commercial advice and does not replace formal legal counsel.
