This service provides a concise patentability and prior art assessment for deep-tech innovations developed within EIC-funded projects or EIC proposals, with a focus on European and international patent practice, including EP and PCT routes. It is intended for EIC beneficiaries, applicants, start-ups, SMEs, research teams, spin-offs and technology transfer teams seeking to understand the patent potential, risks and strategic IP position of their technology. The service is typically delivered within 4 weeks by in-house patent and IP experts. External technical experts may be involved where highly specialised technical knowledge is required. The service includes review of the disclosed technology, targeted prior art searches, state-of-the-art analysis, identification of patentability risks and opportunities, and preparation of outputs suitable for EIC proposals, investor materials and IP strategy planning. The expected outcome is a written patentability and prior art assessment report, including a prior art landscape overview, proposal-ready IP summary and strategic recommendations for follow-up IP actions. The service is delivered remotely or in a hybrid format and is advisory and analytical in nature.
Services are provided on a time‑based pricing model. Hourly rate: €125 / hour. Estimated effort: approx. 16–24 hours.
Indicative budget range: approx. €2,000 – 3,000.
The total effort depends on the number and complexity of documents to be analysed, technical field breadth and required depth of analysis. The estimated number of hours is agreed prior to service start.
Despite their best efforts, diligence and professional approach based on our expertise and years of experience, PatentEnter s.r.o. cannot guarantee 100% certainty of finding all relevant technical solutions that have been published due to the vast number of published patent and non-patent documents in many different languages and in different sources, both electronic and non-electronic. The risk of not finding an existing relevant document that could form a basis for an objection to the patentability criteria is proportionally reduced by the number of hours spent on the search but can never be completely eliminated.
