The Catalyst programmes are thematic cohort research commercialisation programmes that aim to accelerate academic or research teams towards commercial outcomes. Your research community already holds world-changing ideas — but without the right support, many never leave the lab. Catalyst bridges that gap. Designed for funders, universities and research organisations, Catalyst programmes empower researchers to translate discovery into real-world solutions. Zinc combines venture-building expertise, coaching and ecosystem connections to help you generate commercial pipelines, build entrepreneurial capability, and demonstrate tangible return on research investment. Each programme focuses on a defined mission area, bringing together diverse experts, providing funding and hands-on support. Catalysts build the skills, networks, and momentum needed to move ideas from the lab to real-world impact.
The service is paid for by innovation funders, but is delivered to innovators free of charge. Total programme costs to funders are negotiable depend on number of participating innovators in a cohort, cohort length and other contextual information.
Note this is a programme free to participants, but funded by innovation funders.
