Service description

The George Washington University’s 3-week Lean Startup Short Course provides training and long-term mentorship to startups looking to solidify their business model and go-to-market strategy. GW’s Short Course helps international startups explore the commercial viability of their idea - either in the U.S. market or their home market - through direct interaction with intended stakeholders, learning those stakeholders’ needs and examining how they could best be fulfilled (“customer discovery”). The cohort begins with 3 days of initial lecture followed by 2.5 weeks of customer discovery work. Before, during and after the Short Course, teams are supported by a GW Mentor who provides expert guidance and feedback (for up to six months). At GW OIE, mentoring is central to our approach. Over the last decade, GW has recruited numerous seasoned entrepreneurs and trained them in the Lean Startup teaching philosophy.
