The TU Wien is Austria's largest research and educational institution in the field of technology and natural sciences. More than 4,000 scientists in eight faculties conduct research on "technology for people". The content of the studies offered is derived from the excellent research. More than 26,000 students benefit from this. Although everyone has individual life concepts and world views, the people who work, study and lead at TU Wien actively stand up against discrimination and for openness to the world, tolerance, and equal opportunities. The promotion of gender equality and diversity is, therefore, an important objective. TUW graduates and scientists contribute to transferring knowledge and technology to society and the economy through their knowledge and sustainable relationships. The interaction of basic research and applied research, as well as research-led teaching, allows the entire value chain from scientific and engineering research to innovation to be represented. The transfer of knowledge and innovation "from theory to practice - from the fundamentals to application" encompasses all essential areas of acquiring and implementing research projects and commercialising research results. As an innovative driver in digital transformation, TU Wien ensures international competitiveness, enables cooperation, and contributes to the prosperity of society.
