BAU was established in 2018 to support the development and growth of the most promising entrepreneurs, startups, spin-offs and other technology-based and innovative companies in North Macedonia. BAU services include business capacity development (acceleration), provision of support in product and service development, development of market linkages, private sector networking, and fundraising. In addition, BAU manages an early-stage investment fund of EUR 533,000. To date, BAU has directly supported more than 100 startups, and has invested in ten companies. BAU's ongoing efforts are to promote innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem development in North Macedonia and the region. BAU's expertise concentrates on the identification of viable innovative ideas and/or business opportunities and supports their development and commercialization process. As such, BAU has extensive experience in designing and implementing tailor-made business acceleration programs that support entrepreneurs and early-stage companies with business and product development, commercialization, digitalization, development of market linkages, and access to finance/fundraising. BAU has organized numerous entrepreneurship events, hackathons, acceleration and incubation programs for various sectors, including circular economy, mobility, deep-tech (technology based on advanced scientific and engineering innovation/research), health, raw materials, food, energy, manufacturing and mobility.
